The Milk River has put Montana on the map when it comes to whitetail hunting. Burke Ranch Outfitters has access to some of "The Best" this area has to offer. Most of the property along the Milk River is privately held, which means access plays a huge role in the hunt and quality of game. Sustaining a manageable deer herd from season to season without overhunting is another of our priorities. This is what we do all season long. It's not unusual to have multiple shot opportunities, and we strongly urge our clients to purchase and fill "Doe B-tags" which can be purchased over the counter for a non-resident hunter during most years.

The hunting takes place from Sept-Nov. in tree stands and blinds. September can be very hot with lots of mosquitoes. The bucks are in bachelor groups and travel from bedding to feeding areas. October can hot and/or cold and the bucks tend to split up and move on their own. In November you can expect some real cold temps but it's the rut, and that can take away some of the chill, with exciting rut activity.

We can't guarantee anything but a great time but it's not unusual for our properties to produce deer in the 120" to 140" range with a chance at a 150" plus.
